Description:
When clicking on the Preferences menu item Rhythmbox crashes with the following error:
GLib:ERROR:gvarianttypeinfo.c:186:g_variant_type_info_check: assertion failed: (0 <= index && index < 24)
Aborted

This is the first time using Rhythmbox so I can't confirm if it has ever worked. If it helps, Gtkpod works fine with my iPhone.


Steps to reproduce:
* Open Rhythmbox
* Click Edit, Preferences.

Not sure if this is related but I am also unable to add any music. My MP3s are not added to the Library though I'm thinking it is a codec issue.

I installed gnome3 and gnome3-extra last night and now Rhythmbox works! Not sure what changed or what was installed to fix this..

As this isn't closed yet, i want to add that I can reproduce it when opening preferences and switching attributes of the "visible columns" e. g. genre multiple times. after ~10-20 switches it crashes with the error mentioned in the initial report. Sometimes however, the message is

**GLib:ERROR:gvarianttypeinfo.c:165:g_variant_type_info_check: assertion failed: (info->alignment == 0 || info->alignment == 1 || info->alignment == 3 || info->alignment == 7)

I posted a stack trace upstream but there are question marks for glib, gobject, gtk and gdk in it. I guess i should recompile those instead.
