Arch switched from Gedit 2 to gedit 3 despite the fact that Gedit 3 is not ready for it's prime time. The latest stable release from upstream is 2.30.2 (see http://projects.gnome.org/gedit). Gedit 3 uses different API and most of 3rd party plugins are not ready yet - most of them do not work which makes Gedit in many cases useless. |

that website is not up to date. the latest stable version is 3.0.2. No idea who told you that gedit 3.0 is not ready for prime time.
