Description:
First, I don't think it is only Terminal's bug.

It is this, when I upgrade after gnome3, once I run in Xfce4,open an Terminal, and run python, but there is no
message"Python 3.2 (r32:88445, Apr 15 2011, 11:09:05)
[GCC 4.5.2 20110127 (prerelease)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
"

I wait for a moment, type an space, all the message appear.

I try sometimes, it is same.

I think it is a bug. and more,so many times i type something, some chars not on screen!

when i start gvim in Terminal,so many message:
(gvim:17288): Gtk-WARNING **: Invalid input string
output.
it is so many,880 lines, every time (gvim:xxxx) not same, just last i run 17319 17320 output.

when use konsole, and xterm, the term not eat chars, but gnome-terminal and Terminal do.
but every term run gvim,so many Invalid input string.

maybe other things wrong, but i don't notice.

dmesg has a fail about mtrr.

[ 9.477644] i915 0000:00:02.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
[ 9.477654] i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64
[ 9.543685] mtrr: type mismatch for c0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining
[ 9.543690] [drm] MTRR allocation failed. Graphics performance may suffer.

[ 9.544386] [drm] Supports vblank timestamp caching Rev 1 (10.10.2010).
[ 9.544388] [drm] Driver supports precise vblank timestamp query.

i can only find one fail in system. There is no other thing seems wrong.

you should report upstream to vte that both gnome-terminal (which uses vte compiled with gtk3 support) and terminal (which uses vte compiled with gtk2 support) have painting delay.

How?
At least, I think I should get more info about this, but I can not do anything check vte, if it is really bugs in vte.

some days ago, it seems correct after some updates, or something changed. But I am now using KDE, so not watching this for any more. It is about one year ago. Close this bug I think is ok.
