You should fill a feature request if you want why support for featuere X enabled in a package along with arguments ( so I changed you bug report ).

2.6.37 does not have support for dom0. If I remember right, 2.6.40 will be the earliest kernel to have all necessary features.

jelly, thanks, i forgot that it's a feature request =)

brain0,
i have read that
"pv_ops dom0 support has been merged into upstream kernel.org Linux 2.6.37 kernel, so dom0 support is included out-of-the-box in Linux 2.6.37 and later versions."
from
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenDom0Kernels
so i think that i can ask here to add support of dom0.
Am i wrong?

I have not yet looked into the details, but I think that statement is misleading - essential drivers to actually run a Xen dom0 are still missing. I think I need to read more about the details to be sure. We can leave this report open for now, until I know more.

Ok, thank you

The upcoming Linux 3.0 will (finally) contain the Xen dom0 storage backend, which was the last missing piece for dom0 support. Question remains: Should we enable this in the normal kernel, or have a separate package for it?

I don't know how much problems enabling xen in the kernel would be, it would be nice to have a seperate kernel as long as it doesn't create more work then it deserves.

There is another thing to consider. The xen hypervisor does not appear to be able to load lzma or xz compressed kernels.

Should work with x86_64 now.
