Description:
libnotify doesn't send notifications since Gnome 3 has arrived. Additional info: extra/libnotify 0.7.2-1 Using a stable system (not using *testing/). Not using Gnome but Openbox with some Gnome apps. Steps to reproduce: Be up-to-date. $ notify-send "something" Does not work. Pidgin does not display notifications anymore. you need to start it manually
/usr/lib/notification-daemon-1.0/notification-daemon &
It would be good to indicate it in libnotify's post install.
I did what @Merkil recommended of starting notification-daemon manually (added to autostart.sh) but no notifications
