DetailsDescription:
I am runnig Archlinux as Guest on Debian Host (KVM 64bit). The VM fails to boot and hangs with the following messages io scheduler noop registered io scheduler deadline registered io scheduler cfq registered (default) ERST: Table is not found! The package version is 2.6.38.4-1 and it also happens with the LTS Kernel 2.6.32.39-1 It did not happen in previous kernel versions because I have a machine installed under the same conditions with the following information: Linux [host] 2.6.38-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 30 08:47:36 CEST 2011 x86_64 QEMU Virtual CPU version 0.9.1 GenuineIntel GNU/Linux See forum topic for additional information https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=924059#p924059 Additional info: * kernel26-2.6.38.4-1 | kernel26-lts-2.6.32.39-1 * see above for further explanation Steps to reproduce: - Install Archlinux as a Guest on KVM (64bit) (Debian in my case. Have not tested in other distributions) - Install Archlinux using the regular method (assume it will install the latest kernel version in the repositories) - Reboot - VM Hangs on Boot |

I think something must have changed in the kernel configuration that caused this because I have a system with a with a kernel26-2.6.38.2-1 package that works well. (see uname -a output above)
