Details

Description:
testing/rhythmbox can not be re-compiled for the odd used in PKGBUILD
(for reference: http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/rhythmbox/repos/testing-i686/PKGBUILD )
Indeed, 'source' field refers to a local file, not know which version and origin.

Moreover using this PKGBUILD against rhythmbox version 0.13.3 (last by now),
you get a dependency error...

configure: error: Package requirements (... gnome-media-profiles >= 2.8 ...) were not met:
No package 'gnome-media-profiles' found

Where libgnome-media-profiles (3.0.0-2) is installed.
So, how is it possible that this package was compiled?

Additional info:
The reason for this request comes from the need to recompile rhythmbox enabling debugging, to investigate (and solve) a problem reported here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=648649

for gnome 3, the developer didn't release a tarball compatible for it and i got a snapshot from git. you shouldn't report any problems until he is releasing it.

i pushed new version 2.90.1-3 using today snapshot. it also have debug symbols by default which you'll find useful when debugging your issue.

Thanks, I really appreciate your work and I finally managed to get a decent trace.
Unfortunately we are still missing debug symbols in libglib and libgtk-3, so trace will still probably not good.

PS. Even new version from GIT fixes this bug :/
