grub2-1.99~rc2 can't probe 0.90 mdraid arrays. This was fixed on the trunk in revision 3234 (patch attached). Since it was the only type of metadata allowed with previous versions of grub (even 1.99~rc1) it will break existing configurations. Additional info: * package version 1.99~rc2-1 * grub-probe --device /dev/md1 --target fs output : grub-probe: error: no such disk. Steps to reproduce: run grub-probe --device /dev/mdX -target={partmap,abstraction,fs,drive} where /dev/mdX is a 0.90 mdraid array or simply run grub-mkconfig if you have a 0.90 raid array for / or /boot |
