Details

After upgrade to bind 9.3.1 i realised that bind is trying to write the pid file into /var/run instead of /var/run/named . I'm taking the following error.

couldn't open pid file '/var/run/named.pid': Permission denied

Ι temporarily changed the group of /var/named to named.

That line should use '/var/run/named/named.pid' now that named runs as its own user/group.

Fixed in /etc/named.conf :-)
Thanks
