Description:

I use mencoder to converting h264 AVC (mpeg-ts from Panasonic camera)
move to h264 AVC (for reduce size, improve quality and compatibility)
Previous version x264 libraries (number 112 name 20110115-1)
works perfect but on latest version (number 114 name 20110327)
mencoder droping frames.
Moreover mplayer-vaapi doesn't work on h264 at all with latest
version of x264 libraries but on previous everything is OK, so
it maybe something wrong with decoding h264 stream.

Steps to reproduce:
Convert h264 stream to h264 stream with x264 library.

Greetings,
Miroslaw

Thank's for looking after x264 libraries. Encoding HD on latest x264 20110617
seem still broken for me. Within a few days I try investigate this problem
deeply.

what are you using for encoding? mencoder or ffmpeg?

I use mencoder, latest version (33643-2). The first pass seem OK
but second pass give me many droped frames and very slow encoding speed.
(about 1 fps vs. 12fps on x264-20110115 which works ok)

My encoding command (on x264-20110327 I was trying many commands, with no success)
for i in *.MTS ;do mencoder -mc 2 -vf lavcdeint,pp=dr,hqdn3d,smartblur=1:-0.2:0,harddup -nosound -ovc x264 -x264encopts bitrate=7000:pass=1:subq=7:partitions=all:8x8dct:me=umh:frameref=5:bframes=3:weight_b:threads=4 -o /dev/null $i ; mencoder -mc 2 -vf lavcdeint,pp=dr,hqdn3d,smartblur=1:-0.2:0,harddup -oac copy -ovc x264 -x264encopts bitrate=7000:pass=2:subq=7:partitions=all:8x8dct:me=umh:frameref=5:bframes=3:weight_b:threads=4 -o ./got/$i.avi $i ;done

Maybe into newest version of x264 programers introduced some new functions
incompatible with my command?

i'm not familiar at all with this but i know that mencoder is kinda dead and you should use ffmpeg
