Details
Description:
Running the Keyboard Layouts plugin crashes after a while with the following message: ===kernel.log=== Apr 17 17:10:50 localhost kernel: xfce4-xkb-plugi[4361]: segfault at 6d ip b6d0c683 sp bf98357c error 4 in libc-2.13.so[b6c97000+145000] Additional info: * package version(s) Desktop: XFCE 4.8.0 extra/xfce4-xkb-plugin 0.5.3.3-4 (xfce4-goodies) * config and/or log files etc. Linux theunq 2.6.38-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 30 07:14:27 UTC 2011 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) Neo X2 Dual Core Processor L325 AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux Steps to reproduce: 1. Add the Keyboard Layout applet to an XFCE 4.8 panel. Result: applet works fine for a while. 2. Continue using the plugin across reboots, logon/logoff, etc. ACTUAL RESULT: Popup message: "plugin crashed... Execute or Remove?" Selecting 'Execute' bring the same dialog again, so user is forced to choose Remove. IMPORTANT NOTE: The current git version works ok, Building and installing from http://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-xkb-plugin/ works without any segfaults. |

Manager>Keyboard>Layout.
I have submitted a bug in the xfce tracker with more details, and, apparently it seems that it has been fixed in the current trunk, according to the comment at https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7509
I have compiled from git and that version (0.5.4?) does not segfault anymore, and the plugin Properties dialogs opens Ok.
I have noticed some strange artefacts with the current git version though, e.g. there are funny characters next to Spanish (es) in the Properties dialog, but that is already another bug which is probably too early to report.
