Description:
Trying to create a guest with virt-manager produces the following error (on the final wizard stage):

"unsupported configuration: this QEMU binary lacks hda support"

Additional info:

It seems it is related to sound emulation support with a hda-duplex device ?

That's not a bug in libvirt, but in qemu(-kvm). The qemu(-kvm) package needs to be compiled with "hda" in the "audio-card-list".

Same problem here with my installation.
Setting "sound device" to "ac97" was a workaround for me.

I did not find any config option for setting the audio parameter. Please where did you set it ?

You can access the dialog to change the sound device in the "New VM" wizard at step 5 of 5, when you check the box "Customize configuration before install" and then hit the "finish" button.

But this is like i said before just a workaround until this package is being recompiled...

Thanks. I was able to create a virtual Win XP machine using ac97 (however altgough the Intel AC'97 is recognized OK, I have no sound)
