DetailsIn order to get Gnome3 I enable the Testing repo but at that time I blacklisted the kernel 2.6.38 that was still in Testing too. So I was running Gnome3, 2.6.37, Xorg-Testing on my Intel GM945 video card. Everything was fine. When 2.6.38 hit Core I upgraded. From that point I could not longer switch to external monitor only. Mirror configuration works although it is weird as I don't have the same aspect ratio on the two monitors. Then if I use aRANDR, xRANDR or any other tool to switch to my external VGA monitor and disable the laptop one, I get a blank screen and I'm unable to go back to any other configuration forcing me to kill my X session. For xrandr, I use a known configuration that have been working for years on the same display.
As last resort I decided to give 2.6.39rc3 a try and then surprisingly everything works as before. It looks like a bug in 2.6.38 considering that I get everything fine with either 2.6.37 or 2.6.39. What kind of details can I provide for the investigation? |
