Description:
After updating `xorg-server` from 1.9.4.901-1 to 1.10.0.902-1, mouse and keyboard no longer works with `xf86-input-evdev` 2.5. An excerpt from Xorg log: ------ [ 67.693] (II) LoadModule: "evdev" [ 67.693] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evdev_drv.so [ 67.693] (II) Module evdev: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 67.693] compiled for 1.9.0, module version = 2.5.0 [ 67.693] Module class: X.Org XInput Driver [ 67.693] ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 11.0 [ 67.693] (EE) module ABI major version (11) doesn't match the server's version (12) [ 67.693] (II) UnloadModule: "evdev" [ 67.693] (II) Unloading evdev [ 67.693] (EE) Failed to load module "evdev" (module requirement mismatch, 0) [ 67.693] (EE) No input driver matching `evdev' ------ Upgrading to 2.6 fixes the problem, but the `xorg-server package does NOT require `xf86-input-evdev` to be in version greater than 2.5. Additional info: * xorg-server-1.10.0.902-1 * xf86-input-evdev 2.5.0-1 Proposed solution: Requiring xf86-input-evdev >= 2.6 for `xorg-server` package from now on. Additional notes: I'm posting this as "low" instead of "high", because the issue, while being serious, affects only the people who have old version of `xf86-input-evdev` for some reason. |
