hwd fails to report different hardware on different machines. It is dicussed in this thread:

I have some detailed information posted in the thread. Basicly it reports a wrong refresh rate for my monitors, it fails to report any ethernet cards, my isdn card was not shown as well as my floppy drive on one machine. Both machines are updated today (pacman -Syu) and I uninstalled/reinstalled hwd and lshwd.

As you can see, the ethernet controllers (Intel Etherpress Pro 100 and onboard VIA Rhine) are not listed. I did not load a driver for the Intel card, but the VIA Rhine is up and running.

The rates for the monitor (LGE L1715S) are:

Ethernet: It missed the 2 nics as well: 3Com 905C TX/M and the SMC 9432 TX (eepro100). The ISDN card and the floppy drive are missing as well. The were both detected during boot. The refresh rates for this monitor are (Samsung SM 152V) :
H 31-61
V 56-75

I use a custom kernel, based on 2.6.11 with the Greg KH patches and the cdburning patch. If you need more info please let me know.
