Details

Description:
ejabberdctl isn't usable while the ejabberd sevice is up
package version 2.1.6-2

Steps to reproduce:
pacman -S ejabberd
/etc/rc.d/ejabberd start
ejabberdctl

It returns:
Failed RPC connection to the node ejabberd@localhost: nodedown

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  ejabberd@localhost by default comes from upstream and can be changed with --node

Are you really use jabber at localhost? You should use --node key.

For example:
ejabberdctl --node ejabberd@hostname dump /tmp/ejabberd.txt
