A lot of unneeded dependencies seem to have been imported from MPlayer's PKGBUILD. mplayer2 gets rid of mencoder, so there shouldn't be a need for a lot of encoding libraries like x264 or xvidcore. mplayer2 also gets rid of the built-in GUI as well, so there shouldn't be a --disable-gui in configure options. As far as I can tell, the list of dependencies is considerably different from that of mplayer. I think they are listed here: http://git.mplayer2.org/mplayer2/tree/README |
