Cannot reproduce here, "Stop" button working as expected:

----
$ pacman -Q gnome-mplayer mplayer
gnome-mplayer 1.0.2-2
mplayer 33159-1
----

Anyone else? Can you provide any link to a WMA file that produces this behaviour?

@Lukas

Song Allegro on this page (section Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788)):
http://www.theflute.co.uk/htmlMain/samplemusicW.htm

$ yaourt -Q gnome-mplayer mplayer
community/gnome-mplayer 1.0.2-2
extra/mplayer 33159-1

This behavior now appear also on mp3 files. Clicking the stop button restarts the song.
With "killall mplayer" the song stops, but Gnome-mplayer remain on screen.

Luckly, gnome-mplayer --reallyverbose (hilarious) gives a lot of goods, that i attach as file.

This rather looks like mplayer having some decoding/caching problems. Does seeking and pausing work if you use mplayer(1) directly?

Mplayer the cli version? How can i pause/stop the song? Using CTRL+V the song restarts, with q stops and exits the program. Space key (for pause) works well, like seeking.

Did you enable the "Enable mplayer cache" setting under "Edit, Preferences, MPlayer"? If so, disable it and test again.

It's enabled by default, once disabled and pressing stop on the playing song, the song restarts for a little (~250 ms) and finally stops.

Do you happen to have a slow machine? I can only reproduce that "Enable mplayer cache" bug. If you care about it, you should probably report it upstream.

Is a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 with 2 GB of ram DDR 400 a slow machine? How can i report it upstream?

Nah, that should definitely be fine. Please report it on the upstream bugtracker [1].

It seems to work well now with gnome-mplayer 1.0.3-3 and mplayer 33713-1, with Mplayer buffer turned on in Gnome-mplayer preferences. Anyone can confirm?
Comment by Lukas Fleischer (lfleischer) - Saturday, 25 June 2011, 07:23 GMT
Yeah, works now.
