here a small patch that enables dynamic detection of ide pcmcia devices like cardreaders. udev and devfs handle this detection fine, so there is no need of manual creation with mknod. |

Can you explain the patch a bit? All it seems to do is disable a portion or the ide script that runs mknod. Does that mknod stuff somehow hinder the use of cardreaders?
