It seems FAAC is was compiled without mp4 support.

accoriding to audiocoding.com, it needs libmp4v2, which is included with FAAD2

I've installed FAAD2 and it's not there, so i can only assume FAAD2 would need recompiled to in order to add mp4 support

faad2 needs to be compiled with --with-mp4v2 ... but as far i know faad2 stable does not yet support mp4v2 .... the support is in the cvs of faad2 and therefore i did make a faad2-devel package
http://www.archlinux.org/packages.php?id=5609
that supports it ... if you want to have faac support mp4v2, you need to compile it against faad2-devel and make it faac-devel on this way (to handle the conflict properly)
