DetailsDescription:
Chromium has a dependency on gconf as compiled, but upstream has merged in a patch from Gentoo that removes this dependency. Since gconf is being deprecated anyway in favor of gsettings, there isn't much benefit to keeping the gconf dependency. Additional info: Link to patch from Nov 2010: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=13322 The page above shows the relevant patches to this. Tested on Chromium 10.0.648.204-1 Steps to reproduce: 1. Install the package on an install without gnome. It will attempt to install gconf. 2. Attempting a pacman -Sdd install of chromium (with the non-gconf dependencies) fails, as well. "error while loading shared libraries: libgconf-2.so.4: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory" |
