Description:
I'm unable to activate scim in firefox 4. it works in other applications, in particular other gtk applications don't exhibit this problem.

This has been reported in the firefox bugzilla here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643326
and here a SUSE bug entry about the same problem: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680430
Basically they blame each other, I would be really gratefull if some of you could look into this if this is a packaging or a firefox bug.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
firefox 4.0-1
xulrunner 2.0-1
scim 1.4.9-2

Steps to reproduce:
Start firefox, press ctrl+space, see that scim is not activated

I have exactly the same problem. scim does not work in firefox 4. it works in all other applications even firefox 3.

Does the problem still exist?

Yes, this is still a problem with firefox-6. However, ibus works great and has better multi-word support than scim (I think). Instructions here:
