DetailsDescription:
The latest 3.3.2 libreoffice package still uses OpenOffice icons (for example, ooo-* icons in the installed .desktop files) though new LibreOffice icons have been available from version 3.3.1 onwards I believe. (As shown in the LibreOffice Start Center.) Can our packages be updated with the new icons please? Additional info: The new icons for LibreOffice can be seen at: http://luxate.blogspot.com/2011/01/not-even-included-but-already-improved.html Steps to reproduce: Run the LibreOffice Start Center and compare the new icons displayed with those installed with the Arch libreoffice 3.3.2 package. |

1) Download http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/src/libreoffice-artwork-3.3.2.2.tar.bz2
2) Relevant new icons seem to be found in: /libreoffice-artwork-3.3.2.2/default_images/res/
3) Replace the old icons, for example, the 48x48 icons would become:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-base.png => odb_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-calc.png => ods_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-draw.png => odg_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-gulls.png => mainapp_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-impress.png => odp_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-math.png => odf_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/ooo-printeradmin.png => printeradmin_48_8.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-template.png => ott_48_8.png (maybe?)
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-web.png => (unsure?)
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ooo-writer.png => odt_48_8.png
4) Use the new icons in the desktop files, for example:
/usr/share/applications/writer.desktop:
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Terminal=false
TryExec=lowriter
Exec=lowriter %U
Icon=ooo-writer => odt_48_8
...
5) Make the symlinks in /usr/share/pixmaps/ target the new icons, for example:
/usr/share/pixmaps/ooo-base.png => odb_48_8.png
Hope this gives you some idea (but sorry, haven't found where the scalable svg icons are.)
Because we always build plain vanilla packages there's no chance for now to use it. Bring your request upstream if you want to see it included.
