Description:
As for the newest kernel versions all have by default the nouveau/drm kodule with kms support I would propose to set the nouveau driver as well as standard in xorg.
The automatic detection tries to load the best driver and is hardcoded into the xorg-server so I think it would be wise to change nv to nouveau (nv is not supported/maintained by nvidia anymore and the range of cards supported and even the features are inferior to the nouveau driver).

Enclosed is the patch for xorg.

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  bring it upstream. we ship vanilla software wherever possible. see arch patching rules.

Why not submit that patch upstream?

Because it would take longer to merge.I would like that my next xorg update is already patched^^. But yes you are right I should make a feature request on the xorg mailing list.
Oh and a reason to not do it is as well that I don't know if every distro can work with that.Maybe ubuntu or something has a newer xorg release than kernel release and doesn't bring nouveau as default (hereby is ubuntu a patchwork where I suppose it doesn't matter because of the crazy stuff they merge into)
