Description:
As for the newest kernel versions all have by default the nouveau/drm kodule with kms support I would propose to set the nouveau driver as well as standard in xorg. The automatic detection tries to load the best driver and is hardcoded into the xorg-server so I think it would be wise to change nv to nouveau (nv is not supported/maintained by nvidia anymore and the range of cards supported and even the features are inferior to the nouveau driver). Enclosed is the patch for xorg. |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: bring it upstream. we ship vanilla software wherever possible. see arch patching rules.

Oh and a reason to not do it is as well that I don't know if every distro can work with that.Maybe ubuntu or something has a newer xorg release than kernel release and doesn't bring nouveau as default (hereby is ubuntu a patchwork where I suppose it doesn't matter because of the crazy stuff they merge into)
