DetailsDescription:
After a recent update of libmysqlclient dovecot fails to accept connections. These are the entries I find in /var/log/errors.log: Mar 16 10:46:18 bryma dovecot: auth: Error: dovecot/auth: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.16: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Mar 16 10:46:18 bryma dovecot: master: Error: service(auth): child 8463 returned error 127 Mar 16 10:46:18 bryma dovecot: master: Error: service(auth): command startup failed, throttling This is, AFAICS caused by an error in the dependency of dovecot, it claims to depend only on 'libmysqlclient>=5.5.8', when in fact it depends on versions of libmysqlclient that contains libmysqlclient.so.16. The current version of libmysqlclient contains libmysqlclient.so.18 and it should therefore not satisfy the dovecot dependency. It looks to me like dovecot should be built against the newer version of libmysqlclient, and that an upper bound on the dependency should be added. Additional info: * package version(s) dovecot 2.0.11-1 libmysqlclient 5.5.10-1 Steps to reproduce: |
