All of a sudden xdg-open, gvfs-open, gnome-open opens url with firefox instead of chromium which is defined as default browser in gnome.

So I have installed chromium 10 from my self-made package (with the same PKGBUILD that from [testing]).
but even if I revert to chromium 9, I still got the same behavior

also I noticed that xdg-open changed recenty. I tried with xdg-utils 1.0.2. still the same
also gmime changed if it's related ?

I tried
xdg-mime query default text/html
which gives
chromium.desktop

but I don't know the mime type of an URL so I don't knwo how to check that

during my test, I tested once with a new user just to check it happens with a clean ~. and there is the same problem.

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  Reason for request: ok. found why. I installed terminal (the package with that name) which installed exo and libxfce4util and it messes things around. once I uninstalled those, it worked again

xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/http
gives nothing !!
if I set up as a user
xdg-mime default chromium.desktop x-scheme-handler/http

xdg-open continues to open firefox instead of gnome when I run
xdg-open http://www.osnews.com

/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/unknown/command
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/https/command
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/about/command

all 4 previous keys in gconf are /usr/bin/chromium %s

the chromium.desktop from extra and testing have a fixed mime handler. Maybe you didn't update your own version.
