Same here, CTRL+ALT+Fn only gives me a blank screen (except F7, X), but if sometimes i can see the login console prompt there's a "slowness" when typing, better, if i type my user i have to press keys twice to get the letter. Same with the password, i can't login sometimes.

GPU: 7600GS
Nvidia driver: 260.19.44-1
Kernel: 2.6.37.4-1

I add a strange behavior: on tty1 i have the behavior that i reported before, on tty2 it's all ok, no problem when typing user & password and i can login and use commands normally. On tty1, two times the key to type the letter.

Nvidia driver: 270.30-3
Kernel: 2.6.37.5-1

It's probably a bug in the blob, nothing that arch can fix. I always had the same problem with Arch64 on a late-2008 macbook. In my specific case I think it's related to the efi-only boot (no bios emulation), anyway the nouveau driver works fine in the same conditions, too bad it doesn't support power management.

I have noticed the "slowness" bug (in fact you need to press a key twice to have it work, but not all the time... making it nearly impossible to type password to log in) when starting X with the inittab method (runlevel 5 starting slim). When staying in runlevel 3 and starting slim with the daemon, everything works fine.
But I don't think it is related to slim, as I have the bug on another computer without slim (runlevel 5 starts .xinitrc). All computers have nvidia.
Hope my 2 cents can help ;)

Does this still happen with nvidia 275.09.07?

Yes, nothing changed for me, bug still valid. Altough I still think it should be closed with "upstream".
