The gnome menus are just a mess.

I am renaming some items (some have ridicoulously self-important long names, like the "Inkscape SVG Vector Illustrator"), and when I reboot or relogin, my changes have been GONE completely!

I also rename categories or change icons, but the changes ALWAYS revert back to the originals. This is a must-fix. I need a gnome menu that stays put. This is the one utility I use many times per hour. It should piss off the user.

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  gnome 2.10 release

Gnome 2.10 will be released in a few days, so it will move to extra then. I will add the gnome menu editing application, because gnome 2.10 doesn't have any ability to edit menus.

Arjan has fixed a gnome-panel issue with menu editing in the 2.8 series, but since the 2.10 release is near in a few days (tarballs are expected in 3-4 days, release in 5), I won't work much on the packages in extra that also have versions in testing.

i tested the menu patch at my little sisters pc and it works, a couple of users tested it for me.
So i do think this is weird, but like JGC said gnome 2.10 will be released soon......

I highly doubt that the menu will be fixed on 2.10. It seems to be the big taboo of the gnome devs.
