Description:
Currently in the repositories we only have pyqt3 package available, which point to the old qt3 framework and it is available only for python 2 which is not our default python version. I think we should have not only pyqt3 but also pyqt4 for both python2 and 3. This packages are rather trivial to make taking as template the current pyqt3 package. I suggest to change the names of the package to account correctly to this variety:
- python2-pyqt3
- python-pyqt3 (python3 version)
- python2-pyqt4
- python-pyqt4 (python3 version)

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  We want to remove qt3 from our repos a day.
About current python-qt and python2-qt, I'll add a provides('pyqt') line

We have:
extra/python-qt 4.8.3-2
extra/python2-qt 4.8.3-1

I have search further more and I see that actually the packages are in extra repository. The problem is that the name do not contain pyqt as expected.

python-qt (python3 and qt4) ->repository extra
python2-qt (python2 and qt4) -> repository extra

Further more if you search for pyqt you still will find one package pyqt3 in the community repository. This makes the search even more misleading as you think that the other are just missing. Please consider to homogenize the names. The ones I proposed for the packages seems the more natural to me as the name of the package is pyqt and although is is true that it is some how redundant as pyqt means python for qt. Also giving information of the qt version is quite important, although I would understand if you drop the 4 as it is the current default version.

An additional comment python-qt depends on python2-qt. I propose to make it the way around. This is natural as python3 is the default version in archlinux and therefore changing the dependency order will allow us to avoid installing python2 if willing to.
