If said directory doesn't exist, for example if /var/run is tmpfs-backed, and /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua contains the line pidfile = "/var/run/prosody/prosody.pid" , as it does in Arch, prosody will silently exit because it cannot create the directory. The init script should, to match the configuration directive. Additional info: * package version(s) prosody-0.7.0-4 Steps to reproduce: 1) delete /var/run/prosody 2) sudo prosodyctl start 3) try to debug silent death 4) ???? 5) cry. |
