Description:
Try to load http://www.runescape.com/game.ws?j=1
applet will randomly freeze without displaying an error message when run from a terminal, gives a hall of mirror effect of the desktop wallpaper until it turns into a black screen.

No audible sound either.

The game worked fine before OpenJDK6 package was randomly split into "icedtea-web" for the plugin as an opt-depend.

However after installing this new "icedtea-web" package, nothign will work.

Have also installed various other prerequisite packages such as:
alsa-lib giflib nvidia jogl

Additional info:
Name : openjdk6
Version : 6.b20_1.9.7-2
Name : icedtea-web
Version : 1.0.1-1

$ uname -srmo
Linux 2.6.37-ARCH x86_64 GNU/Linux

Steps to reproduce:
Open firefox to http://www.runescape.com/game.ws?j=1 and wait for it load results in some kind of crash or infinite loop, i am not too sure exactly "what is causing this", but only happening since openjdk6 (browser plugin) package was split into its own seperate package.

Reason for closing:  Deferred
Additional comments about closing:  Upstream. See comments in the upstream reports. That's nothing to backport into the stable release. It will be fixed in the next major upstream release.

May be a regression in the upstream code. Try to rebuild icedtea-web 1.0.0 and openjdk6 with icedtea 1.9.6 to see where the bug comes from. Then file an upstream bug.

I have a little different, but probably related problem. The game loads, but there is no sound at all. The sound works in the non browser version of the game (same thing just it's a standard Java program). Wasn't an issue before the package split.

Please open a new bug for the sound issue.

That's odd, I was about to report a bug, but now it's working :) The only thing I've done since last night is restart my computer, maybe that helps :) However, the game does crash on me though...but it seems to only do it in Firefox, not Chromium. (but I only tested for a minute, will have more to test later)

To the above poster, I have also just tried with chromium... but i get the same problem. Instead it shows a crashed plugin notification.

I have installed the jre package for now, which works fine (excluding sound effect/music).

I will also check out the non browser version, to see if that works with openjdk6 later on.

http://icedtea.classpath.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=664 - this is the bug for the sound issue we will track here.

Feel free to run the plugin in debug mode and open another upstream issue for the crashes.
