added strace
http://pkgbuild.com/~jelle/strace.txt

So it seems someone has forgotten to package something.

Programs looks for:
/usr/share/qgis/python/plugins/plugin_installer/version_compare.pyc

Package contains:
usr/share/qgis/python/plugins/plugin_installer/version_compare.py

@jelly: That looks normal to me; Python will attempt to load the compiled script if it's available, but should fall back to the .py.

Maybe this bug is related to  FS#22872 ? Does `pacman -S postgresql-libs --asdeps' prevent the segfault?

postgresql-libs --asdeps didn't work for me, but --noplugins option did.

going to try and build it wit hpostgresql-libs as makedepend

Hmm somehow it works here now, it could be that it needed a rebuild after the new python2-sip, ( every bump of that pkg needs all deps to be rebuild )

Also added postgressql as makedepend and mysql otherwise it won't compile due a linker error. So not sure which of the three fixed the bug.

I will talk with td123 about cleaning up the PKGBUILD and fixing both bugs
   PKGBUILD (1.9 KiB)
