Detailsttf baekmuk are the only ttf korean fonts in Arch official repository.
The font files are (ttf-baekmuk-2.2-5) : /usr/share/fonts/TTF/baekmuk-batang.ttf /usr/share/fonts/TTF/baekmuk-dotum.ttf /usr/share/fonts/TTF/baekmuk-gulim.ttf /usr/share/fonts/TTF/baekmuk-hline.ttf According to /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/fontconfig.properties.src java looks for the baekmuk font in : filename.Baekmuk_Batang=/usr/share/fonts/TTF/batang.ttf filename.Baekmuk_Gulim=/usr/share/fonts/TTF/gulim.ttf This causes java to display boxes instead of korean characters Changing those lines to point to baekmuk-batang.ttf and baekmuk-gulim.ttf and saving this under a new file fontconfig.properties solves this bug. openjdk6 version 6.b20_1.9.5-1 |
