From what I can find, we build the package with python2 bindings. This is the only optional use. So
optdepends=('python2: python bindings')
should suffice.

This is for /usr/lib/alsa-lib/smixer/smixer-python.so which is the python smixer binding for ALSA libraries. But I'm not sure that this file is doing anything on its own...

> alsamixer -a basic
ALSA lib python.c:991:(alsa_mixer_simple_finit) Unable to find python module '/usr/lib/alsa-lib/smixer/python/main.py'
cannot open mixer: No such device

Closest I could find in their tree was
http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-lib.git;a=commit;h=77603ff798e8683334cd7772689591137c798802
But nothing of the sort exists now. I don't think the simple/basic mixer code has been touched in more than a year.
