Recent kernels have a bug that causes the nbd device to hang indefinitely. A patch that fixes the probelem is available here:

It might be worthwhile to include that patch.

Can we find that patch in some upstream subsystem tree, too? Would be nice to see if it has been picked up by the nbd maintainer.

I don't know the exact status of that patch, unfortunately. I was told that URL on the nbd mailing list: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27004706

The mentioned patch has been integrated to 2.6.37.1.

This bug should be closed.
