DSDT from initrd was removed, however the ability to load custom dsdt's now part of the kernel

This is correct, but only if you include it while compiling, i don't want the external patch again in the sources.
Thomas any other opinion?

You're right, my bad. I assumed that the bottom of the page was right about the custom_dsdt_initrd. Apparently it was reverted at some later point... A quick grep for CUSTOM_DSDT_INITRD yields no results.

Although the linked web page states that this is "enabled in kernels 2.6.25 or later", the option doesn't exist. The latest available dsdt-initrd patch is for 2.6.30. There is no way we could enable this feature again.
