Details

After updating the kernel that is passed to version 2.6.37-5, a kernel panic appears at startup.
This problem is due to an incompatibility between some NICs (Broadcom,...) and the new kernel.

Here is the message kernel panic:

I have this as well. The actual kernel panic for me is when wicd starts and engages the network card.

I can confirm same issue with b43 for Broadcom BCM4306/3 14e4:4320.

I know this is broadcom, but it would be nice if everyone posted the device descriptions also

Please try the patch proposed in one of the links. It will most likely fix your issue.

The kernel update 'kernel26 2.6.37.3-1' seems to have solved this issue. I applied the latest update and re-installed 'broadcom-wl' from AUR, now my wireless works as normal with no kernel panic.
