Details
Description:
I use ibus with the following settings: XMODIFIERS="@im=ibus" GTK_IM_MODULE="ibus" KDE_IM_MODULE="ibus" but if I launch libreoffice the application doesn't respond to any keyboard events, even shortcuts (i.e. ctrl+Q). In addition the ibus-daemon process starts taking up full CPU time. I've tried setting "xim" instead of "ibus" but when I do that I can type, but the characters don't get "committed." I've tried openoffice-base and this time ibus works as intended. Also reported here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=112433 Additional info: * package version(s) 3.3.0.4-1 openoffice-base (3.3.0-1) * config and/or log files etc. ~/.xprofile Steps to reproduce: 1. Specify ibus environment variables in ~/.xprofile 2. Launch libreoffice writer 3. Attempt to type, but user is unable to. |

I've never heard of ibus before because I don't need it myself. It's only in our community repo and this way not present to the Arch build system at compile time. No idea why Oracle OOo can handle it and LibO not. Because our general build configure optios are almost identical I suggest to ask the LibO devs upstream and maybe file a bug there: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=LibreOffice
if it works it's an upstream issue in the kde integration you should bring upstream!
CC'ed to it.
