DetailsDescription:
growisofs is slow in burning a DVD, usually burning at a speed of less than 1x, even though the drive has successfully burned at 8x in the past. Even when I set the -speed flag it does not change. Here is an example: [rkut@r50 rkut]$ growisofs -dvd-compat -speed=8 -Z /dev/sr1=HOM0NNM2.iso Executing 'builtin_dd if=HOM0NNM2.iso of=/dev/sr1 obs=32k seek=0' /dev/sr1: "Current Write Speed" is 8.2x1352KBps. 0/3799771136 ( 0.0%) @0x, remaining ??:?? I have found what I believe was the root cause of the problem. I had loaded the USB 1.1 kernel module (uhci_hcd) by mistake. When I unloaded uhci_hcd and loaded ehci_hcd (the USB 2.0 kernel module) instead, then I was able to burn a DVD at 8x speed again. Sorry for the false alarm. Please close this bug. Thank you.
