DetailsDescription:
collectd requires libtool to be present (it is linked against /usr/lib/libltdl.so.7), but the package doesn't make this explicit. The default image that Rackspace (a VPS provider) uses does NOT have base-devel installed, so I was unable to run collectd until I installed core/libtool (well, base-devel). Additional info: * package version(s) collectd: 4.10.2-1 (x86_64) * config and/or log files etc. A configuration w/o libtool will reproduce this problem. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create an up-to-date Arch instance that doesn't have base-devel or libtool installed; 2. install collectd (pacman -S collectd); 3. run /usr/sbin/collectd: % /usr/bin/collectd (error message about missing library) |
