Host: Slackware 13.1 x86 VirtualBox : 4.0.2 Archlinux : latest i686 Steps to reproduce: Install ArchLinux as Virtualbox guest OS from 2010.05 image Upgrade all packages using: Pacman -Syu Install KDE: pacman -S kde-meta phonon-xine Add daemons to rc.conf: DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus hal network netfs crond sshd) Install Xorg: pacman -S xorg Copy /etc/skel/.xinitrc to /root/ update: exec ck-launch-session startkde Then $ startx |

Is this still an issue with mesa and libgl from testing? What I can extract from your logs is that the swrast_dri driver is used for OpenGL. This driver has received TFP support a while ago which causes crashes when Kwin tries to use it.
