Description:
Hi,

I'm a KDE user that uses wicd to setup my wireless connection. Besides, I use wicd-client-kde (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40666). The problem with this is that, since wicd bundles /usr/bin/wicd-gtk, I get two icons of wicd on my system tray, one from wicd-gtk and another from wicd-client-kde. Thus, I have to close manually the gtk one, not to have both running at the same time. Consequently, I would like that wicd package to be split into wicd and wicd-gtk. The former would have everything it currently has but GTK stuff. All this GTK stuff would be move to a new package wicd-gtk package.

I hope you understand the reasons of the request.

Best regards!

Hi,

I'm sure there are a million of things more important than this request, but I would like to know whether there is any possibility it gets done in the forthcoming future. After all, it seem not to be that difficult and time-consuming.

Best regards! ;-)

You are right, there are millions of things more important than this, but I will try to get this thing done this weekend or the next week.
I will try to split the wicd package into wicd and wicd-gtk. wicd will have all the stuff you need that the core application and ncurses interface is running. The whole GTK stuff will be in the wicd-gtk package including the autostart file.
