I cannot confirm this. I do not have python2-gnomevfs installed and Sonata 1.6.2.1-2 works fine.

This is a bug in gnome-python. python2-libgnome should depend on python2-gnomevfs. The gnome.ui library is optional for sonata, but because it fails to install the missing dependency, the module aborts.
