DetailsDescription:
MySQL (in both /extra and /testing) builds against bundled libedit instead of system's readline. A quick examination of cmake/readline.cmake (for /testing) shows that when WITH_READLINE=OFF cmake compiles against bundled libedit. IMHO readline is *way* better than libedit.. To build with system's readline in the PKGBUILD should add WITH_LIBEDIT=OFF which turns bundled libedit off.. To build mysql 5.1.54 with system's readline perhaps should use --without-libedit Additional info: * package version(s) -- 5.1.54, 5.5.8 |

Well, WITH_READLINE=ON is an option, yes, but thus is will build against the bundled readline 5.02 (on mysql 5.5.8), while the system is supposed to have 6.1 (at this point)
