DetailsThere are several closed bug reports dealing with Amaya not working. I just thought I'd pitch in and tell you how I got it to work.
Firstly, I created a symlink where it searches for a file that doesn't exist, this certainly isn't a clean way of doing this, but it works. ln -s /usr/share/amaya/config/unix-thot.rc /config/unix-thot.rc Now set the problematic THOTDIR environment variable to /usr/share/amaya ...and presto..it works. export THOTDIR="/usr/share/amaya" I might suggest that maybe a patch be created to change the hardcoded location for unix-thot.rc from /config to /usr/share/amaya/config , as opposed to my crude symlinking method. As for the THOTDIR variable, it seems the only option is sticking it in an /etc/profile.d/amaya.sh entry. |

I don't actually use it, but rather was playing around with it.
Also, seeing as I'm not sure how many people actually browse through the bugtracker, I set up a poll on the forums http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=69206 , it's limited to 7 days, so maybe you could base your decision on whatever that happens to show.
