DetailsThe zile editor's releases dont need help2man in order to generate documentation. They only need that when building from the sources repository.
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/zile.git/tree/INSTALL says: Building from a release tarball: Prerequisites: (n)curses, Perl Building from the repository: automake >= 1.9, autoconf >= 2.59, recent gnulib (at time of reading!), help2man. Also the script has 2 md5sum arrays. |

Heres a script that also updates to latest version. FWIW zile is already rewritten entirely in lua.
