DetailsSummary and Info:
pacman-3.4.2-1 (also 3.4.1) strictly depends on libarchive-2.8.4-2. libarchive-2.8.4-1 or prior will make pacman unable to handle xz files. This leads to a system that can't be upgraded. Tested only in i686. Steps to Reproduce: 1 - Install pacman-3.4.2-1, libarchive-2.8.4-1 and xz-5.0.0-1 2 - Try to install any package compressed with xz, it will give you a corrupt package warning and abort the install. To solve it: 1 - Upgrade libarchive to version 2.8.4-2 2 - Install any package |

We don't support out of date systems. And this has nothing to do with pacman, but the packaging of it only, so wrong project. Sorry for being blunt, but there is a reason libarchive was rebuilt to pkgrel -2.
