DetailsThe POSIX:2001 (IEEE Std 1003.1-2001) specifies that the `bc' utility program should be present; indeed, the official Arch Linux `man-pages' package in the `core' repository installs a POSIX man page for it: /usr/share/man/man1/bc.1p.gz
Unfortunately, the `bc' utility program itself is not installed by default; the official Arch Linux `bc' package in the `extra' repository must be installed explicitly by the user. In my opinion, `bc' should be in `core' and it should be installed by default. |
