Details

When starting nscd; it will die with the error

cannot create /var/db/nscd/passwd; no persistent database used
cannot create /var/db/nscd/group; no persistent database used
cannot create /var/db/nscd/hosts; no persistent database used

mkdir /var/db/nscd -p will fix this

Duplicates with  bug 2062 , I'd say :-) Judd already said he'll take care of that in the next glibc release.

Hmm; stupid of me; it didn't show up in the search however :? Will this bugtracker be the best place to discuss general instability of services such as famd and nscd?
