Boot into a rescue system and run xfs_repair on your partitions to make sure it's not corruption that causes these oopses. I've used XFS for many years on servers, but after a power failure, things like these would occur.

i don't think it's a xfs problem
i changed xfs to reiserfs
it's running upper a raid1 (md linux raid) with 4 disks

i made a
lsof

dmesg problem:

general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP
last sysfs file: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.2/host4/target4:0:0/4:0:0:0/type

another information from mariadb (mysql) at same time

101227 0:31:09 [ERROR] mysqld got signal 11 ;
This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.
We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help diagnose
the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely wrong
and this may fail.

key_buffer_size=0
read_buffer_size=4194304
max_used_connections=3
max_threads=102
threads_connected=2
It is possible that mysqld could use up to
key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_threads = 836831 K
bytes of memory
Hope that's ok; if not, decrease some variables in the equation.

I would suggest running a memtest before debugging other things. A kernel that gives filesystem errors, a MySQL that gives segmentation faults... usually points to memory bugs.
Comment by Roberto Spadim (rspadim) - Tuesday, 28 December 2010, 19:37 GMT
i runned memtest86+ 6 pass without error, memory are new, hd are new, cpu are new, motherboard is new (10days...) i think it´s a AHCI problem... any idea? i disabled the firewire, i tested with stress software and this problem just ocurred when running a disk stress, cpu and memory stress don't make this problem
Comment by Tobias Powalowski (tpowa) - Friday, 19 August 2011, 10:42 GMT
Still an issue?
Comment by Roberto Spadim (rspadim) - Friday, 19 August 2011, 13:05 GMT
yes still a issue, no work around yet, the machine is down since i can´t use in production
i will test a new kernel when i get acces to it again, but i think that´s a problem on all core i7, since i have another one with the same problem, and i installed ubuntu server instead archlinux
Comment by Thomas Bächler (brain0) - Friday, 19 August 2011, 13:28 GMT
Definitely not a problem with all i7 machines.

EDIT: Oops, just noticed it is a problem in XFS - might be the combination XFS+i7.
Comment by Roberto Spadim (rspadim) - Friday, 19 August 2011, 13:52 GMT
hummm maybe, i will check since i installed ubuntu using ext4
i will check if ok

i checked that i5 have some problems with my usb network card
maybe the overclock (that feature that make clock higher and after slower) is a problem for usb
